Sometimes when we’re feeling really anxious or really down, it can be hard to think of things right in that moment that will help you feel better. One thing that can help is having a “Menu” of items that can help you feel more like yourself. This is by no means an exhaustive list, but it might have just 1 thing that you can try right now. We will continue to add to this page with more resources.
Suicide Prevention is important to us.
If you’re in the Austin Area, and you are in a mental health crisis, or you know someone who is - Call 512-472-4357. This is the Travis County Suicide Hotline, our area’s 24/7 Helpline. A mental health crisis can also include seeing or hearing things that others don’t, feeling that people are out to get you, as well as thoughts of hurting yourself.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is 988.
Crisis Text Line - Text HOME to 741741.
The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline has special resources for veterans. To connect, call 988 and press 1. You can also send a text to 838255.
Lifeline Chat is a service of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. If you’re not ready to talk to someone but feel up to an online chat with a counselor, this service will connect you to a counselor for emotional support and other services, 24/7.
Please consider saving these numbers in your phone, because you never know when you or someone you love might need them.
